Safe Boating

NO WAKE BUOYS!!!! Do you know the Missouri boating laws and boater responsiblities. A proper speed or distance must be maintained while operating a motorboat or PWC or while towing a person on water skis or any similar device. Be aware of and obey all regulatory markers, including those marked as “idle speed” or “no wake”. It is illegal and dangerous to operate a motorboat or PWC at speeds that may cause danger, injury, damage, unneccessary inconvenience, or boat at speeds greater than “idle speed” or “slow no wake speed” within 100′ of a dock, pier, an occupied, anchored boat or a buoyed restricked area. A vessel may not proceed at a speed greater than necessary to maintain steering to be at an idle speed or slow no wake speed. There is also a night speed limit of 30 miles per hour from a half-hour after sunset to one hour before sunrise. Ameren UE shows the Lake level is at 660 or full pool today June 18, 2015. Be aware – watch for other boaters, debris coming down the lake and use common sense and courtesy .
